The primary system of qigong practiced at Wild Wombin Wellness is called Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong. It’s a system that was developed specifically for maintaining women’s health. This class focuses on specific, gentle exercises that help to balance and regulate the endocrine system (hormones), release stress and stuck emotions, and optimize the lymphatic system by encouraging the flow of Qi (energy) throughout key areas of the body. In this class, we will also be focusing on movements that open the ribcage to help relieve congestion in and around the breasts, lungs and heart. As well, we will utilize movements that stretch and strengthen the muscles of the hips and pelvis. These exercises can be supportive in both prevention and treatment of many common female conditions such as menstrual irregularity, menopausal symptoms, cysts, adenomas, PCOS, endometriosis, and others. Additionally, the methods and exercises taught in this class embody a philosophy of self-love and compassion.
Some of the practices you will learn in this class are...
TIBETAN SOUND HEALING. This is a practice of toning specific healing sounds while focusing on a complimentary movement. It vibrates through the body offering the potential to break up tumours and stagnant energy in the body and to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding. It helps to rebalance hormones and assists in releasing repressed emotions.
SHAKING AND CUPPING. This is a practice of vigourously shaking the various parts of the body followed by moderately ‘slapping’ the body with a cupped hand. These technique help to mobilize lymphatic fluid, detoxify cells, and to stimulate targeted areas of the body to draw out stagnant energy.
QI-MASSAGE & ACUPRESSURE. Massaging one’s self and stimulating one’s own acupuncture points helps to releases energy blocks, improve circulation and muscle tone, dissolve stagnant and blocked emotions, and infuse the body with self-love.
